The Village of Silver Lake is a beautiful community made up of tree-lined streets and gorgeous lakes nestled between the cities of Cuyahoga Falls and Stow. The Village has a rich and colorful history, and began as an amusement park that included an airport and racetrack. At the height of its success, the park had 10,000 visitors a day. The park was sold in 1917 and subdivided for residential building, and later incorporated in 1918.
Silver Lake residents enjoy a multitude of educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities. Village residents can find quality academics at institutions such as Kent State University and the University of Akron; enjoy a stroll in the MetroParks; attend an Akron Rubber Ducks game; or take pleasure in listening to a musical event at Blossom Music Center. The Village is also home to the distinguished and historic Silver Lake Counry Club.
